AfiyaAfrica — AI-Powered Telemedicine & Digital Healthcare for Africa

AfiyaAfrica is a Pan-African digital health platform delivering accessible, clinician-supervised telemedicine, AI-assisted triage, and community health worker (CHW) support to underserved communities across 25+ African countries. We combine offline-first mobile technology, localized languages, and mobile money payments (M-Pesa, MTN MoMo, Airtel Money) to bring quality healthcare within reach of patients in both urban and rural settings.

What we do

  • Telemedicine consultations with licensed African doctors across general practice, pediatrics, maternal health, mental health, dermatology, and chronic disease management.
  • AI health assistant (Jambo) for symptom triage, red-flag detection, and health education — every AI output is reviewed by a clinician before it influences care decisions.
  • Community Health Worker (CHW) network with training, supervision, stipends, and diagnostic kits for last-mile care delivery.
  • Electronic health records, e-prescribing, and pharmacy fulfillment integrated with local pharmacies and diagnostic labs.
  • Health education hub covering malaria prevention, maternal and child health, nutrition, disease prevention, and community health leadership — available in English, French, Swahili, Hausa, Yoruba, Arabic, Portuguese, and more.

Who we serve

  • Patients — affordable consultations, prescriptions, and follow-up care in their local language and currency.
  • Doctors and clinicians — a caseload management dashboard, availability scheduling, patient EHR, and secure messaging.
  • Community Health Workers & NGOs — training programs, supervision tools, and program integration.
  • Governments, HMOs, insurers, clinics, and hospitals — white-label deployments, population-health analytics, and 90-day rollout programs.

How AfiyaAfrica is different

Unlike single-country telehealth apps, AfiyaAfrica is built Pan-African from day one: 54-country signup, cascading country → region → specialty provider matching, 8+ local currencies, mobile-money checkout, and a progressive web app that works on low-bandwidth Android devices. Our AI triage is clinician-supervised — patients are always routed to a licensed human doctor for diagnosis and prescribing. We comply with POPIA, NDPR, and the Kenya Data Protection Act, with strict row-level security on all patient data.

Impact

Across pilots and partner programs, AfiyaAfrica has supported more than 100,000 patient interactions, trained hundreds of Community Health Workers, and partnered with NGOs, ministries of health, and private clinics across East, West, Central, and Southern Africa.
